Mid-Level Role: MCU/ECU Hardware Design Engineer

Job Summary

Independently design, develop, and validate MCU and ECU boards for automotive control systems, ensuring reliability, signal integrity, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-layer PCB design with focus on high-speed signal routing, impedance control, and EMI/EMC optimization.
  • Integrate MCUs with communication interfaces (CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet) and sensors/actuators.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, including EMC pre-compliance and functional safety assessments (ASIL-B/C).
  • Review designs for manufacturability (DFM) and mentor entry-level engineers.
  • Collaborate with firmware teams for hardware-software integration and RTOS deployment.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Electrical/Electronic Engineering; 3-6 years in MCU/ECU design.
  • Advanced proficiency in PCB tools, MCU selection, and protocol implementation.
  • Experience with automotive standards (AEC-Q100/101, ISO 26262).
  • Strong debugging and simulation skills (e.g., LTSpice, HyperLynx).

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in high-density interconnect (HDI) and thermal management for compact ECUs.
  • FPGA prototyping for MCU validation.
  • Knowledge of automotive network diagnostics and cybersecurity basics.
