  • Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Design Engineer with strong expertise in SolidWorksbased design to develop and optimize structural components for electric vehicles. The role involves working on underbody, upper body, and BIW structures, ensuring high performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • ● Design and develop electric vehicle components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • ● Create 3D models, detailed part drawings, and production-ready assemblies.
  • ● Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • ● Develop designs considering structural performance (bending, torsion, stiffness, fatigue).
  • ● Work on BIW, underbody, and upper body structures for EV platforms.
  • ● Collaborate with CAE teams to interpret simulation results and optimize designs.
  • ● Ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements, including sheet metal, stamping, and joining processes.
  • ● Integrate EV-specific systems, including battery packaging and structural protection.
  • ● Support material selection and lightweighting strategies for performance and cost efficiency.
  • ● Participate in design reviews, prototype validation, and engineering change management.
  • ● Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, electrical, and program
  • teams.
  • Required Skills & Competencies
  • ● Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for solid modeling, assemblies, and production drawings.
  • ● Working knowledge of CATIA / Siemens NX is an added advantage.
  • ● Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics (stress, strain, fatigue, load paths, stiffness optimization).
  • ● Experience in component design considering bending and torsional loads.
  • ● Hands-on experience in BIW, underbody, or upper body design.
  • ● Knowledge of sheet metal design, stamping processes, and joining techniques (spot welding, adhesives, riveting).
  • ● Familiarity with CAE tools like ANSYS / Abaqus and ability to interpret results.
  • ● Understanding of EV architecture, including battery integration and crash safety considerations.
  • ● Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter / ENOVIA.
  • ● Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
