- Job Title : Embedded Systems Engineer (Vehicle Motion Control)
- Location : Chennai
- Position Overview :
- We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in developing the next generation of software-defined vehicles, specifically focusing on vehicle motion control, path-following algorithms, and autonomous yard/depot automation. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex, real-world challenges on physical platforms, utilizing a data-driven approach to optimize system performance.
- Key Responsibilities :
- ● Software Development: Design, develop, and test high-performance embedded software (C/C++) for vehicle motion control and robotics algorithms.
- ● Architecture Design: Implement and optimize software within modern automotive E/E architectures, including domain controllers and zonal platforms.
- ● Model-Based Design: Utilize MATLAB/Simulink for control system modeling and automated code generation.
- ● System Integration: Integrate wireless communication protocols (5G, V2X) for real-time, low-latency control applications.
- ● Functional Safety: Ensure all software development aligns with ISO 26262 (ASIL-D) and SOTIF standards to guarantee vehicle safety.
- ● Performance Optimization: Debug low-level performance issues across multi-core hardware and complex embedded systems.
- ● Collaboration: Work within an Agile/Scrum framework, utilizing Jira and Jama for requirements traceability and task management.
- Qualifications :
- Required Education & Experience
- ● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- ● Experience: 5+ years in embedded software development (C/C++), with at least 2+ years specifically in automotive software for production applications.
- ● Operating Systems: Mastery of RTOS (SafeRTOS, QNX, VxWorks) or Embedded Linux RT.
- ● Control Systems: Proven track record in vehicle motion control, path-following algorithms, or robotics motion control.
- ● Networking: Proficiency with CAN/CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, and UDS diagnostics; understanding of TCP/IP and 5G/V2X.
- ● Tools: Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink and code generation tools.
- Preferred Skills & Attributes :
- ● Systems Engineering: Experience with SysML tools (MagicDraw), design verification planning, and requirements management.
- ● Modern Software Trends: Familiarity with Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) concepts, OTA updates, containerization (Docker), and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOME/IP, DDS).
- ● Domain Expertise: Prior experience in vehicle manufacturing, assembly, or yard/depot automation environments.
- ● Regulatory Influence: Experience contributing to or working with SAE/VDA/ISO industry standards.
- ● Interpersonal: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders across a large organization.
- Work Environment & Travel :
- ● Language: Fluency in English is required.
- ● Travel: Must be authorized to travel regularly into the United States for testing, collaboration, and site visits.
- ● Philosophy: We value a “hands-on” mentality—candidates should have extensive experience working with real physical platforms rather than purely simulated environments.
- How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their resume highlighting their experience with real-time control systems and production-level automotive software.
